Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the technology usage and perceived stres levels of students in the Faculty of Sports Sciences. A total of 413 volunteer under graduate students studying at Ondokuz Mayıs University between the years 2023-2024 participated in the research. Data were collected using a Personal Information Form, the Technology Addiction Sale, and a screening questionnaire. The Technology Addiction Scale was developed by Aydın, F. (2017). In the analysis of the obtained data, descriptive statistics were used along with parametrictests such as the T-test, ANOVA, and Pearson Correlation Test. Statistical soft ware pack ages were utilized forex ploratory factoranaly sesand reliability analyses.The Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) was developed by Cohen, Kamark, and Mermelstein (1983). The scale was translated intoTurkish, and itsvalidity and reliability study was conducted by Eskin et al. (2013) (Eskin, Harlak, Demirkıran, Dereboy, 2013).As a result of there search, a significant positive relationship was found between students' technology addiction levels and their total stres levels (r=.267;p<.001). It was observed that as technology addiction scores increased, students' perceptions of NegativeStress (Distress) increased, but theirperceptions of PositiveStress (Self-efficacy) did not changesignificantly. While nosignificant difference wasf ound in general technology addiction and stresss cores based on the gendervariable, it was determined that women had higher addiction levels forinstant messaging, while men had higheraddictionlevelsfor online gaming. Inthedepartment-basedanalysis, the technology addiction levels of Sports Management students were found to be significantly higher than those of other departments. Additionally, it was determined that students with a "high" socio-economic statu and students with a daily usage time exceeding 3 hours had significantly higher technology addiction scores. The study find ingsindicate that technology addiction is an important factor predicting perceived stress in university students. Inparticular, Sports Management students and students with high socio-economic status were valuated as risk groups. The uncontrolledincrease in technology usa geincreases students' stres and distress levels, while it does not directly affect their coping skills (self-efficacy).
