Examining the attitudes of students studying at the Faculty of Sport Sciences towards foreign students

The aim of this research is to examine the attitudes of students studying at the faculty of sports sciences towards foreign students. Relational research model was used as a methodological model in this research. The population of the research consists of 1050 students studying at the faculty of sports sciences at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University. In the study, the sampling method, stratified sampling method, which is one of the random sampling methods, was used. In order to determine the number of samples in the study, the necessary calculations were made with a confidence interval of 95% and an error rate of 5 %, and the number of samples was found to be 281. A total of 337 students participated in the research and formed the research sample. The attitude scale towards foreign university students was used as a data collection tool in the study. For the analysis of the data, normality analysis was applied to test whether the data showed a normal distribution. After the normality analysis process, independent sample t-test and one-way analysis of variance Anova, which are parametric test techniques, were applied to the data showing normal distribution. The man Whitney u test, one of the non-parametric tests, was applied for two independent variables that did not show normal distribution. Path analysis tests were applied to test the hypotheses created in the research. As a result, the attitudes of the students studying at the faculty of sports sciences towards foreign students were evaluated in terms of the sub-factors of the scale. Accordingly, it was determined that the factors of respect, acceptance and action, communication and cooperation positively and significantly affect each other (p<0.01). The social incompatibility factor, on the other hand, was found to have a negative and significant interaction with other factors (p<0.01).
