The effect of volleyball teaching with sport education model on 11-13 aged female volleyball players' motor performance and problem solving skills

Abstract (EN)

Objective: With this study, it is aimed to investigate the effect of volleyball teaching with sport education model on 11–13 aged girl volleyball players' motor performance and problem solving skills. Method: The pattern model with pretest–posttest nonequivalent control group the quasi–experimental research models is used in this study. The study group of this research consisted of a total 78 female volleyball players (39 experiment group and 39 control group) from Antalya province. The experimental group of the study participated in the Sport Education Model volleyball practice for 11 weeks and twice a week, while the control group only continued their training. In order to determine the level of motor performance; static balance, flexibility, vertical jump, countermovement jump, air times, 20 meter sprint, 10x5 shuttle running, hexagonal coordination, tossing tennis ball, standing long jump were used as a data collection tool. In addition, was used to "Problem Solving Inventory for Elementary School" developed by Serin ve ark (2010) in order to measure problem solving skill. Independent group t test and paired t tests were used in data analysis. Results: According to the statistic results, although there were meaningful differences was found in support of the experiment group at different levels between the averages of motor performance values of sport education model volleyball application, there was no statistically meaningful difference between the mean values of problem solving skills. Conclusion: As a result, Sport Education Model volleyball application has seen to affect positively the motor performans levels of 11–13 aged female volleyball players. However, it did not have any effect on problem solving skills. Key words: Sport Education Model, volleyball, motor performance, problem solving skill.
