Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out with the aim of "determining the relationship between burnout and job satisfaction levels" of the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports employees. The population of the research is the personnel working at Manisa Youth and Sports Provincial/District Directorate. The sample of the study consists of 219 personnel, 97 of whom are women and 127 of whom are men, working in different business lines in Manisa Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports. The research design is a relational survey model and is a quantitative method. "Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale", adaptation studies for its use in Turkey were carried out by Deniz and Güliz Gökçora for data collection; The "Maslach Burnout Scale", developed by Maslach and Jackson (1981) and adapted to Turkish by Ergin (1992) and whose reliability and validity studies were carried out, and the "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher were used. Before applying the scales, "ethics committee approval" and permission were obtained from the relevant institution management. Before the scales and forms were filled in by the participants, the participants were informed about the research and the scales and their voluntary consent was obtained. IBM SPSS 27.0 software was used to analyze the data obtained in the study. In the first stage, percentage and frequency distributions for the demographic and general information in the first part of the survey were presented. In addition, in the analysis of data related to the scales, percentage and frequency distributions, average response and standard deviation values are presented. The methods to be used to analyze the data were determined depending on the suitability of the data for normal distribution. For this reason, "Kolmogorov-Smirnov" and "Shapiro-Wilk" normality tests were applied to evaluate the suitability of the scale dimensions for normal distribution. When it was determined that the data was suitable for normal distribution, the "Pearson correlation analysis" method was used. Additionally, regression model analysis was performed to examine the relationships. "Newey-West algorithm" was used to ensure that the least squares assumptions were met in the regression model analysis. In cases where the data showed normal distribution, the "ANOVA test" statistical method was used for comparisons of three or more groups and the "independent sample t test" statistical method was used for comparisons of two groups. Since the variances were homogeneous, the "Tukey test" was preferred in post-hoc analyses. The significance level was accepted as p<0.05. As a result of the research, according to the demographic characteristics of the employees; Some characteristics for burnout and job satisfaction showed significant differences in terms of gender, age, marital status, income level, education level, years of service in the institution, position in the institution, and the unit worked. According to the data we obtained within the scope of the research, we can say that the burnout and job satisfaction levels of employees are at medium/low levels and that burnout and job satisfaction levels support each other in a linear direction.
