The Relationship Between Team Identification Levels of Univercity Students Who Are Sports Fan And Their Self-Esteem Levels, Anger Levels and Expression İntroduction and Aim : The aim of this study is to evaluate the team identification levels, sels-esteem and anger levels of sports supporters and to determine the relationship between these factors. Method: The sample of this study is consisted of the students who study at Medical Faculty and Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Uncubozköy Campus of Celal Bayar University, and who point out him/herself as a "sport fan". Sociodemographic data form, sports spectator identification scale , Rosenberg self esteem scale, State-trait anger scale were applied to the students. Results: Team identification scores of the students who have high self esteem, were higher than the students who have moderate or low self esteem .İn addition, team identification scores of the students who have moderate self esteem, were lower than the students who have low self esteem . But this relationship was not statistically significant. When the subgroups of State-trait anger scale of students are compared with team identification levels; as the identification levels increase, the trait anger levels also increase (p=,001). There was no statistically significant difference between SSIS scores and state anger, anger control, anger-in subscale scores. But there was positive relationship between SSIS scores and anger-out subscale scores. Discussion and Conclusion: The relationship between team identification and self esteem, State-trait anger was investigated in this study and no relationship between identification levels and self esteem was found. There was a positive relationship between trait anger and anger-out level.
