Abstract (EN)

It has long been known that the positive effect of regular physical activity and healthy nutrition on quality of life. The main determinants of human health, physical activity and nutritional behaviors were the focus of many studies. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between physical activity levels and eating attitudes of sports individuals in terms of different variables. Material and Method As a total 385, ages ranging from 18-45 years 63 female and 322 male voluntarily participated in the study. The athletes were administered the short form of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (UFAA) and the Eating Attitude Test (EAT40). The analysis of the study was performed by SPSS 22.0 program. Its detected Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilks İn which the data set was not normally distributed. For this reason, Mann-Whitney U test was used for independent group comparisons and in groups with significant differences with independent Kruskal Wallis H test and Mann-Whitney U test was used to determine the difference between groups. Spearman correlation test was used to examine the relationship between physical activity levels and eating attitudes. The results were evaluated according to p<0.05 significance level. Results According to the results of research; It is observed that the athletes who take care of their nutrition have higher physical activity levels and eating attitude than those who do not. It was seen that physical activity levels of individuals who use suplement are higher than those who do not use, and eating attitudes of individuals who consume fastfood and beverages are lower than those who do not consumefastfood. In addition, there was no statistically significant relationship between physical activity and general eating attitude scores. Conclusion It can be said that the individuals who pay attention to their nutrition can have higher physical activity level, however, skipping behavior is observed in individuals who do sports.The benefits of exercise to human health are more likely with proper eating habits.
