Examination of sports manager candidates in terms of Machiavelism and sportsmanship (West Mediterranean example)

In this study, Machiavelli as a Renaissance policy expert and writer and Machiavellianism that emerged with his view are discussed. According to Machiavellianism, every method used is permissible to achieve the targeted goal.The aim of this study is to examine the manager candidates who are studying in the Sports Management departments in the Western Mediterranean Region in terms of Machiavellianism and sportsmanship. The method of the study is descriptive according to its purpose, cross-sectional according to the time it was made, and a survey study according to the data collection method. The research was designed with scanning model. The universe of the thesis study consists of students studying in Sports Management in the Western Mediterranean region. In the study, it is planned to reach the entire universe. A questionnaire consisting of 3 parts will be used as a data collection tool. In the first part, the demographic findings of the participants and the Machiavellianism scale developed by (Dahling, Whitaker, & Levy, 2009) and adapted to our language by Ülbeği (2016) will be used. In the second part, the Multidimensional Sportsmanship scale, which includes information about participation in sports, was developed by Vallerand et al. (2007) and adapted to our language by Sezen-Balçıkanlı (2010). In the third part of the questionnaire, the Altruism scale developed by London and Bower in 1968 and adapted into Turkish by Akbaba in 1994 will be used.
