The research of the leadership styles of sports managers from different dimensions of sports management (example of begean region)

Ill SUMMARY Purpose of he research is to determine the leadership styles of the sports managers who are in different dimensions of sports management. Te variables that are considered in the framework of this generel purpose are; gender, age, education level, income level, working as a sports manager or not, years of working, other jobs of the club managers except their own jobs, time period of working as sports managers of the leaders that have jobs in Youth and Sports Management of City in the research. Sampling groups of this research are; the people who are working as managers in Youth and Sports Management of City, city managers, branch managers, chieves, and the members of board of directors who are sports managers in the sports clubs in Egean Region. Our questionnaire was applied to 161 people in total which includes; 107 sports managers working at the Youth and Sports Management of the cities of; İzmir, Manisa, Afyon, Uşak, Muğla, Aydın, Kütahya and Denizli, and 54 sports club managers working at Karşıyaka Sports Club, Izmir Büyükşehir Belediye Sports Club, Uşak Sports Club, Afyon Sports Club, Aydın Sports Club, Kütahya Sports Club, Muğla Sports Club. The scale that was applied to the sports managers in this research is "The Questionnaire of Leadership View" which was developed by Edwin A. Fleishman in 1960 and published by SRA ( Scientific Research Associates ). Balcı (1997) which was applied for validity and reliability studies, is the turkish version of the Questionnaire of Leadership View. In addition to this scale which was used to sports managers, personal information form was used. The analysis of data which was obtained was acquired by using the package program of SPSS 11.0. The evaluation was done by using the analysis ot t test and Pearson correlation. At the end of the research it was detected that, there was no coherent relation among the leadership dimensions of the sports managers at the level of 0,05 statistically As we consider the relationships between the leadership dimensions of the sports managers and the other independent variables, the coherent relationship was found (p<0,05) among age, years of working, years of working as administrators in Youth andIV Sports Management of City, whereas there was no coherent relationship (p>0,05) among gender, education level, income level, working at higher levels and club managers'having other jobs.
