2. ABSTRACT The Comparasion of Exercises Dependet Changes in Visual and Sensory Evoked Potential Responses Evoked potentials have been used in evaluation of the central nervous system. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of acute and regular exercise on central nervous system and visual and sensorial evoked potentials ( VEP and SEP )rather than effects increase in body temperature. 16 trained (9 female and 7 male) and 16 untrained subjects (9 female and 7 male) were participated. Pre and post exercise values of N75, P100, N145, PI and P2 latency and amplitudes were compared. EMG device was used to electrophysiological measurements. To determine the effects of acute exercise, the individuals in each group was compared and to determine the chronic effects, comparison was made between the groups. The each subjects and groups pre- and post-exercise evoked potential latencies and amplitudes were evaluated using Willcoxon test (P< 0.05) and Mann Whitney U test, respectively (P< 0.01). There were significantly differences untrained and trained females and males subjects pre-exercise VEP responses as reflected left N145 latencies and amplitudes and PI 00 amplitude, respectively. Furthermore, in untrained females there was a significantly difference in the left eye N1145 latencies between pre and post exercise values. In trained and untrained females and untrained males, pre- and post-exercise PI, P2 latencies and amplitudes showed a significant difference. In contrast, there was no significantly difference between pre- and post-exercise potentials in trained males.Trained and untrained females pre-exercise right PI and P2 amplitudes and post- exercise left P2 amplitude showed significant differences. As a result, it was shown that acute regular exercise has important effects on VEP and SEP values without affected in increased body temperature. The differences between trained and untrained subjects VEP and SEP could be due to changes in neurophysiological and neuroendocrine factors caused by increased exercise capacity in untrained subjects. Consequently, evoked potentials could be used as a neurophysiological criteria to evaluate the sportsman's performance. KEY WORDS: Visual Evoked Potentials, Sensorial Evoked Potentials, Exercise
