Abstract (EN)
Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of hand dimensions, hand shape and some anthropometric characterizes on handgrip strength on athletes. Method: This study is aimed to asses the effect of handgrip strength using a digital hand dynometer by finding the 266 participants' phycical characteristics, hand shape and hand parameter in total who are 65 male and 68 famele athletes and non-athletes in order to determine the effect of hand dimensions, hand shape and some anthropometric characteristics of hand on handgrip strength of athletes and non-athletes whose ages rank from 14 to 17. Results: In both parameters the results indicates that there was a significant difference between the left and right a handgrip strength and also the average of right and left hand ratio of the female and male athletes(p<0.05). On the other hand, there is no significant difference of male paticipcuts left and right hand weight ratio (p>0.05).However, the average of female's right hand weight ratio differs statistically in a parameter (p<0.05). Compared to non-atlehletes the finger spans (PA1, PA2, PA3, PA4, PA5) the finger length (BPU, İPU, OPU, YPU, SPU) and the hand parameter (P1, P2, P3, P4, P5) measurements of all the participants were different as (p<0.05). It was found that there is no correlation between the finger spans and dominant hand grip strength, but it refers that there is a meaningful, positive and rational comelation between the hangrip strength and the finger lengths. Conclusion:The results showed that there is a significant effect of hand parameters and some hand anthropometric characterizes of athletes compared ton on-athletes on handgrip strength in grip sports. At the same time, the height also affects the handgrip strength. Key words: Athletes, Handgrip Strenght, Hand Dimensions
