Abstract (EN)
Comparison of Mental Performance of Athletes The aim of this study was to compare the mental performance levels of athletes in sports branches with different types of skills. 30 football players (mean age: 20.23 ± 2.34 years, mean age: 172.73 ± 8.89 cm), 25 athletes (mean age: 19.58 ± 2.24 years, mean age: 176.62 ± 7.89 cm), 30 sedentary (mean; age: 20.31 ± 4.83 years, mean length: 169.16 ± 8.05 cm) volunteers participated in our study. Trial Making Test was used to determine the mental performance of the participants and International Physical Activity Questionnaire short form was also applied to determine the physical activity levels of participants. "SPSS 22.0" statistical package program was used for data analysis. Independent t-test, One-way Anova were used for in the analysis of categorical data correlation between continuous variables were performed with Pearson Correlation analysis. According to the results obtained from the study, it was determined that football and athletes were statistically significant compared to sedentary individuals according to MET levels, and athletes' MET values were higher (p <0.05). However, there was no significant difference between the football and athletes (p> 0.05). There was also no significant difference in mental performance comparison between groups (p> 0.05). In comparison with educational levels and marriage status; No significant difference was found in the level of MET, Trial Making Test A and B completion times (p> 0.05). Similarly, in comparison with gender, no significant difference was observed in the completion times of the Trial Making Test A and B completion (p> 0.05). However, there was a significant difference in the levels of MET according to gender (p <0.05). Male participants were found to have higher MET levels than female participants. There was no significant relationship between sport age, MET, and mental performance (p>0.05). As a result, it was found that there was no relationship between physical activity level and mental performance and there was no difference in mental performance according to the branches.
