Water is one of the basic and primary matters of twenty first century. Water resources nowadays are as important as energy resources, and so water resources are under the ecological threats of rapid population increase, urbanization, industrialization, agricultural uses and other similar activities. In the several locations of the World, local, regional and international disputes are encountered due to the water resources. International law has not yet developed rules which determine the fair and reasonable share and use of water resources. These uncertainties concerning water resource management are the candidate of probable regional-global struggles and obstacles for sustainable development.The Central Asian Republics? have several problems concerning water resources. It is very important for these countries to find the ways of using water resources in an integrated approach.In this thesis, discussed about the present, past and future possible water problems and solutions of Central Asia in respect of political relations and geopolitical location after the Soviet Union.Key Words:Central Asia,Transboundary Watercourses,Amu Darya,Sir Darya,Aral Lake Basin.
