Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to examine the effects of 8-week core training applied on stable and unstable surfaces on selected swimming and motoric performances in 10-13 years old swimmers. Sixty-three athletes participated in the study were randomly divided into 3 groups: stable ground, unstable ground and control group. Athletes were performed flamingo balance, standing long jump, vertical jump, 50 and 100 m swimming performance tests before and after 8 weeks core training. Paired Samples T-test was used to analyze the within groups data, and variance analysis tests for repeated measurements were used for comparisons between groups. As a result of the analyses, a significant difference was found within the group in flamingo balance, standing long jump and 50-100 m swimming performances (p<0.05). Among the groups, it was determined that only the 50 and 100 m swimming performances were statistically significantly better in stable ground and unstable ground core training groups compared to the kontrol group (p<0.05). In conclusion, it was determined that 8-week core training applied on different surfaces did not have a significant effect on balance, vertical jump and standing long jump performances, but improves 50 m and 100 m swimming performance values.
