Özet (EN)
Due to the energy crisis being one of the most important issues our world is facing, the number of researches on novel energy generation techniques and resources has increased and these researches are mainly focused on optimum consumption of energy and making systems become more efficient.Reactive power compensation is one of the most efficient ways to use energy generated in power systems. There are some automatic compensation systems produced by using some specific techniques for switching. ?Static VAR Compensation System? is one of the most significant techniques. Controlling reactive power rate by using semiconductors is called ?Static VAR Compensation? and system produced by using this technique is called ?Static VAR Compensation System?.Static VAR compensation systems have some advantages such as reduction in number of transient states, reduced rate of losing energy, backup features, flexible control and high reliability. In this study, the static VAR compensation systems which are highly important nowadays and the effects of the harmonics of current and voltage which are the most important components having effects on the energy quality of VAR compensation systems are examined, finally experiments by using a prototype set which is formed in a laboratory environment are carried out in order to express the effect of harmonics in various loadings of SVC and in the meantime experimental values are studied and observed using computer simulations. In this study, it is shown that when SVC systems used without filters they cause high values of harmonic distortion. And also with this study harmonic effect of SVC systems due to the loading conditions are also analyzed. Another conclusion of this study is a simulation model is build and results of simulations are verified with applications. Thus in future studies such systems more complicated and hard to have measurement can be analyzed in computer simulations.
