Abstract (EN)
From April 2022 to June 2022, samples were collected from 110 patients at Al-Jumhuri Hospital in Kirkuk. When cultured on optimal media such as blood agar, 81 (73.6%) of all samples were positive for bacterial growth. The study found efficacy against 63 strains of E. coli (100%), 6 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (7.4%), 29 strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae (35.8%), and 37 strains of Staphylococcus aureus. (45.7%). under. E. coli showed complete (100%) resistance to amoxicillin/clavulanate and ampicillin, and 50% resistance to nalidixic acid. Coliform resistance rates to imipenem, amikacin, gentamicin, azithromycin, and cefepime were 30%, 0%, 60%, 30%, and 40%, respectively. Klebsiella pneumoniae showed complete (100%) resistance to amoxicillin/clavulanate and ampicillin and 20% resistance to nalidixic acid. The rates of resistance of Klebsiella pneumoniae to imipenem, amikacin, gentamicin, azithromycin and cefepime were 20%, 0%, 20%, 30% and 30%, respectively. Pseudomonas aeruginosa showed complete resistance (100%) to amoxicillin/clavulanate and ampicillin, and 40% resistance to nalidixic acid. The resistance rates of P. aeruginosa to imipenem, amikacin, gentamicin, azithromycin and cefepime were 80%, 60%, 60%, 10% and 70%, respectively. S. aureus is completely resistant to with drug resistance rates of 30%, 0%, 10% and 30%, respectively The study aimed to isolate and identify bacterial strains from patients with chronic renal failure and to estimate the antibiotic sensitivity of the bacterial strains using the disc diffusion method, as well as using descriptive analysis to estimate the differences between the categorical variables. Urinary tract infection was found in patients with diabetes, as well as individuals who suffer from immunodeficiency, and people who suffer from anatomical abnormalities and need practical catheterization, and individuals with urinary incontinence, as well as older people. Infections were also found in people who took antibiotics in an abnormal manner and without consulting a specialist, as they are more susceptible to bacterial infection. This disease is considered a global problem because of the bacterial infections it causes and leads to the destruction of the immune system, and in some cases there is no treatment protocol to treat these cases
