Examination of STEM education in kayseri province and feasibility of distance STEM education

The global competition which affects future of all living things on the earth depends on economic powers of countries. Education is the greatest and smartest investment for future of countries. STEM education emerging from these ideas aims to remove students' knowledge and ability to analysis and evaluation levels in Bloom's taxonomy with the help of interdisciplinary perspective. According to these information, STEM education is examined in different subtitles at the first step of this multiple case study that structured two cases. Also existed STEM education in Turkey is investigated. For this purpose, STEM education pilot project conducted in Kayseri was explored at the place. Derived from the fieldwork, briefly, findings of STEM education readiness, implementations of STEM education, problems and suggestion are represented. Taking into consideration of technology, heading of STEM disciplines, Z generation students who are called digital native does not necessarily think that they take the class only in the school wall. From this point of view, second case of study which is about practicability, maintainability, and popularization of distance STEM education are represented with the help of experts. At the end of the research, briefly, findings about desing and implementations of distance STEM education were reached. This paper which was conducted in different places and with different field experts' (distance education, STEM education, life sciences, etc.) consists of sophisticated evaluations about distance STEM education via implemented STEM education example in Turkey and experts' opinions.
