Özet (EN)

The use of polymer modified concrete is becoming quite common all over the world and in our country. Especially the use of high strength concrete (HSC) on highways, allows to decrease number of beam in bridges and viaducts, short depth of beams and increase traversed span. Crossing the longer openings can cause a decrease in the bridge feet and reduce complexity of the project, construction time, cost. However, because of the higher resistance of high strength to the enviromental impact, can decrease maintenance costs and extend service life of construction. Addition of non-ionic karboksil styrene budatiene as a polymer affects greatly the workability of fresh concrete and benefits to the country's economy by decreasing time spent for labor and cost of amortisation. In the study, physical and mechanical properties of high strength concretes produced in C50/60 desings has been investigated by adding styrene budatiene copolymer (SBC) percentage by weight different rates Control (0%), 1%, 3%, 5% and 8% instead of cement. Therefore, unit weight, water absorption ratios, 3, 7 and 28-day compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity and frost resistance tests were performed. Also SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and EDS (Energy Dispersion Spectroscopy) analysis of samples were investigated. As a result of study, these has been identified that 1 % SBR concrete samples gave higher values and contributed to strength.
