Abstract (EN)

Inventories have a major part in bussinesses' balances and active assets. Medical equipment, medical supplies and medicinal drugs are the assests in hospital balance. It is important for the management to keep in mind the costs of ordering, preparation and empty inventory along with the costs of keeping the inventory. It is vital to carefully monitor the costs of inventory to be able to give the best possible health service. The aim of this study is to analyse the effects of inventory management on the performance of the hospital in order to work out the cost of inventory management on the hospital. 2010-2014 financial reports anaylsis, inventory changes of the hospitals and their amount of days in-debt through Material Resource Management System (MRMS) through Core Resource Management System (CRMS) from a research and teaching hospital in Istanbul European region, the financial criteria of the health facility efficiency ratings are included in this study. Retrospective field study and financial analysis techniques are the study methods used. Literature, professional knowledge, observation and experience in field are also included in this study. It is calculated in the light of the analyses that inventory management has an impact of 10% on the financial criteria of the health facility effeciency rating of the hospital.
