Abstract (EN)

Streptococcus bacteria are commonly found in nature, gram positive, chain forming bacteria in the coke morphology. Human can be found as normal flora elements, as well as streptococcal pharyngitis, bacterial endocarditis, impetigo, urinary tract infections, rheumatic heart disease, acute rheumatic fever, and acute glomerulonephritis, such as pathogen species causing severe postinfectious syndromes. The aim of this study was to compare the culture method and the rapid diagnostic test (TOYO-TSA01) together in the diagnosis of S. pyogenes, the leading respiratory tract infection. Determination of bacteriophage / bacteriocin content, isolation of bacteriophage and determination of host width of S. pyogenes strains isolated and identified were determined as secondary targets. In this study, all throat swab specimens from Recep Tayyip Erdogan University (RTEU) Training and Research Hospital Microbiology Laboratory were examined. Samples of wound, abscess, tissue, urine, ear discharge, joint and pleural fluid (only S. pyogenes) were examined taken as. Throat culture specimens, 9 wound culture, 4 abscesses, 3 tissues, 1 urine, 1 ear discharge swabs, 1 joint fluid and 1 pleural fluid samples were collected from 252 patients, 174 male and 94 female children from polyclinic and ward patients with various complaints and used in the study. A total of 272 samples were examined and 71 samples were found positive by culture and kit ( Strep A test ) method. Accuracy of culture and kit methods was examined. Culture kit was negative in 7 samples although the kit was negative. The presence of phage content, wide host range, bacteriocin or antimicrobial activity were determined in 49 S. Pyogenes strains isolated and identified and used as hosts.
