Abstract (EN)
The term stress is defined as the response generating process of an organism for the purpose of adaption to the environment in which it lives. Stress, one of the primary problems of the modern era, influences the efficiency and health status of the individuals in today's fast-changing world, which is full of conflict and competition. The factors including rapid change, transition from the industrial ear to the infor-mation age, change in production conditions and competition, emergence of differences in human needs, metropolization and increased need for qualified human resources have led to the increase of the studies on stress in recent years. This study investigates the factors that cause stress on public sector employees, the manners they adopted under stressful conditions and their strategies to combat stress. For this purpose, a literature review was conducted to search the studies on stress and its effects on civil servants. In the implementation stage, the public sector employees were had to answer a questionnaire prepared to measure the effects of stress and their answers were evaluated though the analysis method. Reasons of stress which occurs in negative circumstances that affects the labor performance negatively may be multi fluxional. In this context, factors such as spending less time with the family, particularly perception of salary as a low-rate salary, burden of heavy workload and etc. are among the factors which come to the foreground as ones that create stress. On the other hand, issues such as promotion, fear of dismiss ion and lack of confidence are factors which create relatively less stress. From this point of view, it can be said that factors related with the family and social life create more stress and factors related with job create relatively less stress.
