Study some biochemical parameters in young patients suffering from chronic kidney disease and DM type 2

This study was conducted to investigate the changes in some biochemical parameters in young patients suffering from chronic kidney disease and DM type 2. Blood samples were collected from a total of 150 patients admitted to Al-Alkadhimain Teaching Hospital, including 75 patients suffering from kidney disease and type 2 diabetes and 75 healthy subjects for comparison. The results showed that the patient group (57.86 years) was significantly superior to the healthy group (49.92 years) in terms of mean patient age and that the two groups (control and patients) showed significant differences in terms of mean patient age. According to the results obtained, it was determined that the blood urea rate recorded as 50.72 mg/dL in the patient group was significantly superior to the 9.44 mg/dL recorded for the control group, and thus there was a significant difference in the urea rate of the two groups studied. The results also showed that there was a significant difference between the mean creatinine levels of the studied groups, with a mean creatinine level of 1.68 mg/dL in the patient groups, significantly higher than 0.85 mg/dL in the healthy control group. The mean FBS value was significantly higher in the patient groups (140.40 mg/dL) compared to the healthy control group (91.45 mg/dL). The standard deviation and standard error of the patient group were 7.65 and 0.88, while these values were 6.02 and 0.69 for the control group. The results showed that the mean HbA1C value was 6.50% in the patient group and 4.89% in the healthy control group and that there was a significant difference. A significant difference was observed in the mean GPx level of the patient groups, which was recorded as 68.95 U/L compared to 158.78 U/L in healthy young people. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the catalase activity values of the examined groups, and the mean catalase activity recorded as 42.35 Mu/mL in the patient group was significantly lower than the value of 78.39 Mu/mL in the healthy young group. The data showed a difference in the mean SOD activity of the studied groups, which was recorded as 7.73 U/L in the patient group and 13.23 U/L in the control group. Finally, the calcium level in young patients with kidney disease and diabetes was 6.23 mg/dL, while it was 9.31 mg/dL in the healthy young group.
