In this study, the effects of water quality parameters on the growth of Capoeta umbla populations living in Hazar Lake and Keban Dam Lake were investigated. Water quality parameters, such as Dissolved oxygen (mg O₂/L) , Water temperature C , oxygen saturation (%) , Ph , Electrical conductivity (µS/cm), Electrical conductivity (µS/cm), Salinity % , Turbidity m , Chlorophyll a (μg/L) , Total Alkalinity (mg CaCO3/L) , Biologic Oxygen Demand, Chlorid (mg Cl-/L), Calcium mg Ca+2/L, magnesium (mg Mg+2/L) , Total phosphorus (mg P/L), Sulfate (mg SO4/L) , Ammonium Nitrogen (mg NH3-N/L), Nitrite Nitrogen (mg NO2-N/L), Nitrate Nitrogen (mg NO3- N/L), Total nitrogen (mgN/L). were examined between September 2019 - August 2020 and evaluated according to the quality criteria of the Incontinental Water Resources Classes of the Water Pollution and Control Regulation. According to the regulation, the water quality of Hazar Lake is classified as the 1st class in terms of dissolved oxygen, oxygen saturation, water temperature, ammonium nitrogen, total phosphorus, nitrate-nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen, biological oxygen demand; as the 3rd class in terms of chloride ion; as 4th class in terms of pH.The average chlorophyll a value of 1.09 µg/ L in Hazar Lake indicates that it belongs to the oligotrophic lake category. Secchi disc depth shows that Hazar Lake is at the oligotrophic level in terms of light transmittance. It is stated that for total phosphorus less than 10 µg/L, the lake is oligotrophic, for 10-20 µg/L is called mesotrophic, and for more than 20 µg/L is so-called eutrophic. This value was measured as 0.02 µg/L in the lake; therefore, it can be concluded that the lake is oligotrophic. Additionally, since its alkalinity values of lake range between 402-450 mg CaCO3/L, so it has a very hard water feature.The water samples of the Keban Dam Lake, fell into the 1st class in terms of dissolved oxygen, oxygen saturation, water temperature, oxygen saturation, electrical conductivity pH, chloride, BOI, ammonium, nitrate nitrogen, whereas 2nd class in terms of nitrite nitrogen parameters. First quality water refers to high quality water or very good water condition. A value of 1.36 μg/L of average chlorophyll indicates the oligotrophic lake category. For total phosphorus below 10 μg/L, the lake has been reported to be oligotrophic, mesotrophic for 10- 20 μg/L and eutrophic for more than 20 μg/L. Chlorophyll average value in the lake was recorded as. 1.36 μg/L and total phosphorus as 0.035 mg P/L. Therefore, it can be concluded that the lake is oligotrophic according to chlorophyll a and total phosphorus values. It was studied on 416 C. umbla specimens in Hazar Lake and 560 fish specimens in Keban Dam Lake. It was determined that the "b" value obtained according to the applied "t test" was different from 3 (p<0.05) and the growth in male, female and the whole population was "negative allometric".It was determined that C. umbla individuals of Hazar Lake have got less, length, weight and condition factor values. In Hazar Lake pH, total hardness and chloride values were determined in high levels than Keban Dam Lake and these values found to be in the border of limiting factor of fish life.
