Shuaib Arnaout's position in the science of hadith

Hadiths have an important position in the religion of Islam. For this reason, it is one of the most researched areas. Since the early periods, there have been science who tried to carry the hadiths to the next ages. Today, thanks to their efforts, we have the hadith corpuses. In the study, the place and method of science of textual criticism of Shuayb Arnaout, one of these scientists, who is known for his textual criticisms, takhrîj and ta'liqs in the field of hadith and is considered one of the important muhaddiths of the last period, in the science of hadith was examined. The study consists of an introduction and three parts. At the introduction, the subject, importance, purpose, method, sources, limits of the research and studies related to the subject are mentioned. In the first part, general information about Shuayb Arnaout's life, his period and geography were given, his adventure in acquiring his scientific knowledge was discussed, his works were identified and the method of textual criticism in these works was examined. In the second part, Shuayb Arnaout's views on the science of hadith are discussed. In the third part, his hadith scholarship was focused on, specifically in the work called el-Ihsân fî taqrîbi Sahîhi Ibn Hibbân, and a comparison of this work with other textual criticism was made. In addition, in this work, the hadiths that Ibn Hibbân considered weak, and their reasons were tried to be analyzed.
