Investigation of different virulence properties of staphylococcus species isolated from goats with subclinical mastitis

In our study, it was aimed to determine the virulence factors, enterotoxins and antibiotic susceptibilities of Staphylococcus strains isolated from goats with subclinical mastitis. Staphylococcus strains isolated from 110 milk samples collected from goats with subclinical mastitis constitute the basis of the study. Staphylococcus strains were subjected to biochemical tests and coagulase was divided into positive and negative. These isolates were genotypically typed by PCR and then sequenced analysis and full identification were performed. The types of Staphylococcus strains identified were Panton Valentine Leukocidin (PVL), Clumping factor (CLFA), Coagulase (Coa), Alpha hemolysin (Hla), Beta Hemolysin (Hlb), Ý-hemolysin (-hlg) and Enterotoxin by molecular methods. Antibiograms of Staphylococcal isolates were performed with antibiotics frequently used in the field. As a result, 23.6% Staphylococcus isolation was made from the samples. As a result of the identification studies, 5 S. equorum (19%), 5 S. pettenkoferi (19%), 5 S. epidermidis (19%), 3 S. warneri (12%), 3 S. caprae (12%), 2 S. capitis (7%), 1 S. simulans (4%), 1 S. hominis (4%) and 1 S. aureus (4%), 15 (13.8%) Streptococcus sp., 13 (12%) Bacillus sp., 10 (9%) Lactobacillus sp., 7 (6.3%) Shigella sp., 7 (6.3%) E. coli, 7 (6.3%) Corynebacterium sp., 5 (4.5%) Klebsiella sp. and 3 (2.7%) Flavobacterium sp. isolated and identified. Bacterial growth was not observed in 17 (15.5%) samples. Staphylococcal isolates obtained in our study were found to be resistant to Amoxicillin-Clavulanic acid, Ampicillin and Penicillin G antibiotics, which are among the mentioned antibiotic groups. With this study, the regional profile of Staphylococci, which play an important role in the etiology of subclinical mastitis by approximately 70%, on subclinical mastitis in goats was obtained.
