Includes the crime of purchasing or accepting goods of crime

Article 165 of the Turkish Penal Code No. 5237 includes the crime of purchasing or accepting goods of crime. With this regulation, it is aimed to prevent the benefits obtained by committing a crime or as a result from being circulated in the market and to prevent crime from being seen as a source of income. In our study, first of all, general information about the crime of purchasing or accepting goods of crime is given, then the elements of the crime of purchasing or accepting goods of crime, the special appearance forms and reasoning of the crime, the controversial views in the doctrine and the judicial jurisprudence are examined. Finally, the crime of purchasing or accepting goods of crime has been examined comparatively, together with similar provisions in other laws and similar crime types regulated in the Turkish Penal Code.
