Abstract (EN)
Determining the infiltration rate and equations is necessary for irrigation and drainage studies. Although infiltration is counted as very simple, we cannot say that infiltration value and equation for a specific area is exact due to the fact that infiltration varies from place to place. In this study, Kostiakov and Philip equation parameters and infiltration rate was determined on the land that belongs to Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Agricultural Applications and Research Center that has a clayey form. In order to determine the infiltration rate double ring infiltrometer was used. The K and n constants in Kostiakov cumulative infiltration equation were found. The K value K was found as 2.48, 8.92, 14.74 and 57.29, respectively; and the n value was found as 0.74, 0.88, 0.70 and 0.40, respectively. The S (sorptivity coefficient) values of the Philip cumulative infiltration equation were found as 12.85, 125.79, 188.53 and 331.68. Infiltration values varied from place to place. Infiltration rates were approximately 18 mm/h, 202 mm/h, 74 mm/h and 20 mm/h. These result were higher than the average result defined for clayey soil in the literature. Infiltration rate in the designing of an irrigation system project in the study area can be used as 18 mm/h.
