The illumination feautes Of Ahmedi Divan (HAMIDIYE 1082) at Suleimanie Library

A new synthesis has appeared after Period of Principalities and The Book Arts of Ottoman Empire joint together interacting. Although Hamidiye (1082) (Ahmed-i Divanı) handwritten manuscript is one of the rare examples of this synthesis and it holds the typical features of the period; there is not enough research done on it, which led us to do a research on it. The original manuscript work at Suleimanie Library was examined and it was possible to reach Ottoman archives.To reach the information about the work and the author, it was made use of Beyazit Library, Main Library of University of Istanbul, Graduate School of Fine Arts of University of Marmara and Sakarya University Suleyman Demirel Library. The handwritten manuscript that we work on was examined according to the Early Ottoman Empire Period and each page of the study is compiled as a catalog. In the catalogue; starting from the features of binder; various geometric cartridges and figures, colors and patterns inside, were examined. Through this, it will be possible to present the style born out of synthesis of the features of Early Ottoman Period illumination art and other cultures in a sound way.Ahmedi Divan (Hamidiye 1082) was respected little and not copied many although it is one of the divans of Ottoman Empire Foundation Period and one of the oldest. Because, according to proofs, the number of this is six in total at home and abroad. That Murat II pays such an attention to Ahmedi Divan requires that it must be cared and thought on. The most reasonable reason for us is that Ahmedi is the poet of the father of Murat II and that Murat kept to this heirloom.Through the process of examining of the handwritten manuscript, it was noticed that there are some periodical differences between the binder and ornamental parts. It was noticed that while the work belongs to the 15th century in terms of ornamental parts, the binder is constructed as rumi patterns which was applied in later centuries. In this case, it is understood that the handwritten manuscript was restored at 18th -19th centuries. On the pages with illumination of the handwritten manuscript, the pattern analysis of each composition was done individually and it was concluded that it was illuminated within some certain rules of art of illumination.
