Abstract (EN)
The aim of the thesis titled 'Comparative Study on Goddesses and Female Spirits in Sumerian, Turkish and Greek Mythologies' is to reveal the common characteristics, differences and importance of these three mythologies for female studies. It is an important study in terms of revealing the position of women in changing geographies and ancient times. The person who tries to make sense of the creation of the universe has identified the creation with the woman because of its fertility. This feature, which stands out in every mythology, also reveals the holiness of women. This feature is based on archaeological evidence rather than an assumption and is seen in almost all mythologies. Later, the existence of matriarchal communities that have lost their existence has been proved by both mythologies and archaeological findings. Although mythology is a culture of myth, it is valuable in terms of reflecting the culture of ancient times. Goddesses and feminine spirits, who inspired the creation of the world, played an active role in almost every narrative in mythologies. As a result, thanks to the female characters of these three mythologies that have not been compared before, the old position and the present position of the woman have been revealed with illuminating information within the framework of feminism. By examining the value and position given to women in ancient cultures, it was understood that Goddesses and female spirits should be an inspiration for today.
