Abstract (EN)
With the effect of the development of technology, the place of steel material in the construction sector has increased even more. It is predicted that steel, which is used quite frequently today, will be used even more in the future. The increase in the frequency of use of steel structures has also led to an increase in scientific studies for their higher performance under static and dynamic loads. It has been proven by scientific studies that steel braced frames with high ductility level make the structure more rigid and contribute to the limitation of the floor displacements of the structure. In the first chapter of this thesis, the history of steel structures, their properties, advantages, disadvantages, earthquake resistant steel structure design, the concept of ductility, the concept of plastic hinge, the Equivalent Earthquake Load method, wind load, snow load, as well as the purpose and importance of the study are explained. In the second part, previous studies are summarized by reviewing the literature. In the third chapter, the models to be analyzed in this study are introduced, the common features and parameters of these models are mentioned, and the creation of models using the analysis program and program is explained. In the fourth chapter, the design results and analysis results of this study, which was made with ten different models, are presented. In the fifth chapter, these results are analyzed by comparing. Cross members, which can absorb a significant amount of energy by undergoing deformation, can be used in different forms such as reverse V cross, V cross, X cross. In this study, the performance of cross members with different forms against the applied earthquake loads as a result of placing them in two different directions was examined. It has been concluded that the model using X bracing limits storey drifts at a higher rate, has higher rigidity and exhibits better seismic behavior.
