Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study to determine the understanding of sunnah of Abu Hurairah who alleged to exhibit a sunnah formally/literally approach in the context of these allegations. For this purpose, we deemed appropriate to consider our work in three parts. In the first part of the work, the life and personality of Abu Hurairah was emphasized, thinking that it would give an idea about the concept of sunnah of him. Eventually it is concluded that he was known by his kunya not by his name, he became a muslim in Yemen but migrated to Medina in 7/628, and he were undertaken various administrative duties, including the period of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), in Bahrain in the period of Abu Bakr and Umar, in Madinah in the period of Muawiyah. In the second episode, it is focused on Abu Hurairah's muhaddith and faqih qualification. As a result, it is inferred that his muhaddith qualification outweigh rather than his faqih qualification, and the fatwas ascertained confirm this situation. In the third chapter, it is given place the critics directed to him in the process from sahabah period to today. In the end, it is seen that while the critics of the Sahaba and Hanafi scholars were directed toward the correct understanding of sunnah, other groups were biased about their ciritics, and the narrations criticized by the sahabah were too few to be compared to all his narrations. It is reached the conclusion that he is not a faqih, in other words, the allegations are right that he approaches to sunnah formally/literally, and the fact that his life is dedicated to the narration of hadith confirms this situation.
