Does application of target control anesthesia during supratentorial tumor surgery effect the quality of recovery from anesthesia?

Classical total intravenous administration of anesthetic drugs without measuring hypnosis and muscle power during anesthesia by means of a closedloop method in which our study is connected to BIS (Bispectral index) and TOF (Train of four) monitoring in patients who will undergo supratentorial surgery and the anesthetic drugs are given with feedback in accordance with the target values of the assistants. Hemodynamic changes during anesthesia, duration and quality of awakening, and consumption of anesthetic medication were compared. After approval of the ethics committee, 32 cases were classified as ASA-I and II at risk of anesthesia between the ages of 20 and 60 years. Group Concert-CL was closed-loop methodapplied group. Group TIVA (total intravenous anesthesia) was classical TIVA methodapplied group. In the control group, anesthesia was provided by interfering with haemodynamic changes. In the Concert-CL group, anesthesia was provided by the values of Bispectral index between 40-60. Hemodynamic parameters, wake-up status and amount of drug used were recorded. p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. In our study, there was no statistical difference in terms of eye opening and spontaneous breathing durations (p>0.05). The 5th minute "Modified Aldrete" score was similar in the recovery period (p> 0.05). Total doses of propofol, remifentanyl and rocuronium were similar (p>0.05). There was no clinically significant difference in recorded hemodynamic changes, a significant statistical difference (p<0.05) between groups in terms of initial heart rate and SpO2 values. Although the results were similar, closed loop target controlled anesthesia with co-monitors such as BIS and TOF; make anesthesia management more qualified, facilitate anesthesia management.
