Abstract (EN)
Universities, which have an important place in the production of all kinds of knowledge and in the development of technology, are institutions that have special functions in terms of both their physical size and the population they host in order to ensure global sustainability. In the last 20-25 years, many sustainable and smart campus planning and design approaches have come to the fore. In order to achieve success on this path, it is necessary to evaluate all dimensions of sustainability in a holistic way and to follow a systematic path. Considering the available resources in a realistic way is thought to support sustainable campus planning. In this thesis, national and international literature research was conducted on the concepts of sustainability and sustainable and smart campus. In addition to interpreting the information obtained, it is aimed to create a clear perception about the basic features, components, technologies, goals and principles of sustainable and smart campuses by mentioning successful examples from the world and Turkey. In Bursa Uludağ University Görükle Campus, which we determined as the study area, the current situation analysis (detection of structural and vegetative landscape elements in the landscape areas defined by land uses, slope-aspect-soil-hydrology analyzes) was carried out in order to lay the groundwork for sustainable and smart campus applications. The data obtained as a result of the analyzes were evaluated. In addition, Bursa Uludağ University Görükle Campus was evaluated according to the Green Metric ranking system, which allows the evaluation and comparison of the campuses on an international scale, and an estimated value was determined based on the available data. According to the results of the analysis, it was seen that 7.87% of the total area of Bursa Uludağ University campus consists of defined landscape areas, and the majority of these defined landscape areas are associated with residential units. It has been determined that there are 8772 woody plant taxa in the defined landscape areas. Suggestions have been developed to construct a sustainable campus system with the obtained data.
