Abstract (EN)
Architecture compatible with the natural surroundings and climate is an important issue that needs to be developed and supported on the agenda. The requirements increase both the existing energy demand and consumption. This situation necessitates the requirement to set and popularize the housing models that are compatible with climate, sensitive to environmental resources and use energy rationally. In the first part of the study, the emergence of the problem from the past to the present, the objective of the thesis, the definition and scope of the concepts of "energy, ecology and ecological design, sustainability and sustainable design, and finally energy efficient building" an ecological and sustainable building design criteria have been examined. In the 2nd and 3rd parts, the materials and methods used have been stated evaluating the previous studies that have been carried out in this scope. In the 4th part, 30 samples of buildings have been examined regarding the most effective elements of sustainable architecture, energy sensitivity, design strategy and concepts compatible with climate. The results were interpreted analyzing the samples on the table made under the heading of ecological and sustainable building design criteria. In the 5th part, the principal points to be considered regarding the environmental and energy sensitivity have been determined in the buildings that will be designed compatible with the regional climate, by specifying the dominant climatic type for the climate in the Eastern Mediterranean region which is selected as the pilot region.
