Abstract (EN)

Sustainability is a concept that has emerged in order to prevent and provide solutions to the growing population, environmental problems, unhealthy cities and the unequal societies with low quality of life with the acceleration of industrialization. The need for housing, which is one of the basic needs of human beings, is in direct interaction with sustainability. It is a requirement for sustainability that individuals are able to meet adequate housing needs in a healthy environment now and in the future. In order to meet the housing needs of more people today, it is important to search for sustainability opportunities for high-density mass housing applications. Within the scope of the thesis, planning, usage and recycling processes for housing production are considered as a whole; In this process, the results and feasibility of targeting sustainability in economic and social areas were examined considering the efficient use of natural resources such as water, energy and land. Active and passive systems that can be applied when transforming the natural environment into a built environment or some measures can be taken and there are many applications to ensure sustainable high density housing production. In this context, the contribution of the certificate systems in housing production and usage, positive and negative aspects are examined through sample projects and the table created. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the high density residential buildings produced by mankind as a solution to basic housing need in the context of sustainability due to the increasing population and developing technology.
