Understanding the Holy Quran in the perspective of surah names

In the studies related to the Holy Quran, a lot of different topics have been issued except the ?Sura Names? which we have a limited information about it. That?s why we did the studies believing that it?d be beneficial to study such an important field in which findings might close a gap.The purposes of this study are to explain the meanings of the sura names, which are generally unknown when they?re used in their own original Arabic version, extracting the messages of the names by learning the relation between the name and the caller and finding out the clues that might contribute to commenting (on Quran) scholarship.What we have tried to do is searching the answers of some questions such as ?How the sura names can help when we do commenting on Quran?? ?Is it possible to identify the purpose of a sura by understanding the name of it?? Because before we head to understand the suras and the whole Quran, we need to understand the essentials and the purposes of it as much as possible.Now, here we have an issue about the resource of these names. By this fact; we dwelled upon the subject of whether these names are given by Allah or by Prophet Mohammed (tevkîfî) or they are given by ordinary people (ictihâdî).Assuming those names are ?tevkîfî? means the highlighting point was specified by Prophet Mohammed and this result makes names? relation crucial with their content. On the other hand assuming sura names are ?ictihâdî? means the companions of the Prophet Muhammad gave those names because they are related with the suras themselves, that can?t be an underestimated situation understanding the suras.According to these facts, we think sura names should also be considered as a recourse point while commenting on Quran process.
