Abstract (EN)

Application area and shaping methods due to many of properties of aluminum and its alloys have been increased rapidly today* The one of the most importants of these methods is extrusion method. Solid and hollow profiles have been manufacturing by extrusion method. Seam weld occurs between the laminar streams of metal that occurred the same billet in the extrusiun of hollow profile of aliminum alloys. However transverse weld occurs between the billets that are consecutively extruded. When the extrusion welds are compared with the other joint methods, they are more advantegous from the wiev points quality, design flexibility, mass and cost The metallurgical and mechanical properties of extrusion weld zone in a profile may have been different from main material's. Many process factors have been effect to transverse and seam welds. For this reason, the formation mechanism of the welds, the metallurgical and mechanical properties of the weld zone should be detected. In this theoritical and experimental study, the formation mechanisms of transverse and seam weld, effecting factors and the way how they effected in the continuous extrusion are investigated. Keywords: Aluminum alloys, continuous extrusion, extrusion welds, transverse weld, seam weld. XI
