Abstract (EN)

All basic rights and freedoms are termed human rights. People want to take refuge in another country when their lives are in danger, those are among the most fundamental human rights. It has become a center of attraction for all migration movements due to the level of development and high levels of welfare of the member states of the European Union (EU). Therefore, since the establishment of the EU, especially with the Maastricht Treaty, EU has had to make arrangements to establish common policies against immigration, refugees and asylum request. After the Syrian Civil War that started in 2011, millions of people left their homes and demanded asylum in neighboring countries and EU member states. After the war, thousands of immigrants lost their lives as they illegally attempted to cross Europe by sea. In this study, the common policies of the European Union on migration, refugees and asylum were explained and the reflections of these policies were evaluated in the refugee crisis that emerged after the Syrian War. In this context, the EU's perception of security in the refugee crisis was examined by examining the post-structuralist theory and the effect of the concept of identity on the security perception of the EU.
