Abstract (EN)

The 21st century is described by researchers as the age of migrations. While the globalization of the world has affected many social phenomena, it has also affected the phenomenon of migration. In this age we live in, migrations have been made all over the world for different reasons and continue to be done. The global significance of this subject has increased the interest of researchers in this subject. When we look at the literature on migration, it is seen that there are many studies. Immigration and immigration are an inseparable pair. Culture and identity, which is an important issue regarding immigrants, has been the focus of attention of researchers. Cultural identity is the most important spiritual value that immigrants take with them to the countries they migrate to. This research was conducted to find out how immigrants preserve these cultural identities in the target area and whether they remain attached to their cultural identities. In this study, the aim of the research is to learn the cultural identities of the Syrian immigrant students studying at Gaziantep University and how they continue their cultural structure in a new settlement. Quantitative and qualitative designs were used together in the research area. As a result of the research, it was concluded that immigrants are connected to their cultural identities and their cultural identity strength is high.
