Integration process and return tendencies of Syrian refugees: Example of Gaziantep city

In migration phenomenon is as old as the history of humanity. In short, migration is the displacement of people by the anxiety of living in a better environment. Due to Türkiye geopolitical position, has been exposed to migration movements from past to present. Türkiye is a country that receives as much migration as it gives migration. However due to the crises experienced in our geography in recent years, it has become a country that receives migration and hosts a large number of refugees. As a result of the civil war that started in Syria with the actions of the Arab Spring, about six million people left their country, and different problems has began to occur in countries that is exposed to intense refugee migration. The fact that Turkey faced such intense and continuous migration for the first time has brought about problems. The overcrowding of refugees in border town has revealed different problems in cities. Naturally, different problems has experienced in a province like Gaziantep, which has the second largest refugee population in Turkey. In addition, it is seen that issues such as the integration of refugees and the benefit from citizenship has constantly occupied by the public. Of course, these discussed issues constitute the basis for the comeback of refugees to their countries in political and social terms. In this framework, in this thesis which is the subject of our study, we along with drawing attention to the integration and comeback tendencies in Gaziantep province; data on the determination of comeback conditions are included. In this context of the study there are data on the integration and comeback of refugees living in Gaziantep.
