ABSTRACT[ALTAŞ, Naciye], [Mosques and Masjids which are registered by Turkish Republic Prime Ministry Directorate General of Foundations], [Graduate Program Thesis], Ankara [2007].Scope of our thesis which is called ?Mosques and Masjids which are registered by Turkish Republic Prime Ministry Directorate General of Foundations? consists of foundation mosques which are located in three cities mentioned above. These mosques which head the list of most beautiful examples that reflect the religious architecture concept of cities that they are located in are architectural works of art which launch the visual identity of these three cities.This study in which the religious architecture documents that belong to Seljuk State, Sultanates period and Ottoman Empire are introduced; draws attention by the mosques that are studied being foundation mosques. Making solid ascertainments to Turkish architecture and art history constitutes the essence of this thesis, by this catalogue study which is made for foundation mosques that are built by a foundation according to the terms of a title deed of a foundation and continue its presence in accordance with the purposes of that foundation.As a result of our study which we limited by Amasya, Sivas and Amasya city centers; right along with the monumental mosques which we all know and familiar with, small sized mosques which are named after various statesman, well known people of the region or the names of the neighborhood that they are located are localized; foundation names and archive documents that they belong to are laid out with enough photographs and plans.I wish this academic study which is dated back to various ages in history and which is implemented by archive information of Directorate General of Foundations lights the way for history of art and architecture.Keywords:1.Foundation2.Mosque3.Amasya4.Sivas5.Tokat6.
