In this study, hydraulic pump gear set produced with P/M (Powder Metallurgy) techniques, are examined with different mechanical properties and then the stresses ocur on the gear body are compared. The 3-D model of the gear set obtained from the manufacturer is built after the CMM (3-D scanning) operation. The tooth contact stres has been calculated under particular operation conditions of the hydraulic pump. Then this value and the mechanical properties obtained from the powder metal manufacturer has been used in analysis with ANSYS WORKBENCH software. In these analysis, sintering temperature and the mechanical properties due to sintered density value variations are used to determine the stres distribution.It was found out that the sintered density is the primary factor effecting on the mechanical properties.
