Abstract (EN)
Composites are used in different areas in our daily life, as well as in the defense field, they are often preferred in situations where low density and durability are required. In this context, while aramid fiber composites are preferred in the field of armoring, carbon fiber composites are used in applications that require lightness. In this thesis, the strength and damping properties of hybrid composite structures with glass fiber-epoxy resin, carbon fiber-epoxy resin, Nylon 6,6, boron carbide and ultra high molecular weigth polyethylene intercalation were investigated and compared with the finite element method. Different fracture criteria of composites are mentioned. By sharing information on how finite element modeling is done, opinions were put forward about which element formulation is appropriate to use in finite element solutions of composites with different layer properties. In this context, the importance of hybridization has been revealed, and how effective the proportional addition of material between layers is compared to the hybrid layer array has been explained.
