Comparison of burnout levels of taekwondo and boxing coaches

Abstract (EN)

Objective: This study is aimed to determine the relation between Taekwondo coaching and Box coaching and whether there is a differentiation between them according to some variables by determining their level of occupational burnout. Method: Survey study which is based on cross-sectional scanning method is carried out in this research. As a data collection tool, Maslach burnout inventory which consists of 22 items, 9 of which are about sub-dimension of emotional burnout,5 of which are about sub-dimension of personal success and 8 of which are about sub-dimension of desensitization is used to determine the coaches'level of burnout in the research. The research group consists of 384 coaches,207 of whom still work at Taekwondo Federation and 177 of whom still work at Box Federation. The data which is obtained with this research is counted with the programme of SPSS. Results: As a descriptive statistic method, arithmetic average( ),standard deviation(sd), frequency(n) and percent (%) distribution analysis is carried out to determine sociodemographic attributes of the coaches who are involved in the research. Whether the obtained data shows a normal distribution is examined. Conclusion: As a result, The research reveals that Taekwondo coaches'level of burnout is higher than the level of Box coaches in some variables and again in some variables, coaches'level of burnout is higher than the level of Taekwondo coaches.
