Examination of the acute effects of different warm-up protocols on biomotor skills in taekwondo players

Abstract (EN)
Aim: Although the number of studies on the widely applied warm-up protocols today is high, there is no consensus on the effects on sportive performance yet. In this context, the aim of the research is to examine the acute effects of different warm-up protocols on biomotor abilities in taekwondo players.. Material and Method: 17 male taekwondo players aged between 15-18, who voluntarily train at the Legend Taekwondo Sports Club 3 days a week, participated in the research. In the study, three different warming protocols were applied at 48-hour intervals. The random model was used to exclude the learning effect during the warm-up protocols. As performance tests, maximal strength (back-leg), dynamic vertical jump, visual reaction (nelson hand-foot test), 20m speed, dynamic balance (y balance test), agility (hexagonal test), flexibility (sit down) -reach) tests were applied. Results: It was determined that warm-up protocols did not have a statistically significant effect on maximal strength, dynamic vertical jump visual reaction tests, dynamic balance tests, flexibility test values (p>0.05). On the contrary, it was determined that it had a statistically significant effect on 20m sprint and agility performance values (p<0.05). Conclusion: Dynamic warm-up practices are more effective on 20m speed and agility performance of taekwondo players than PNF and static warm-up practices (p<0.05). Different warm-up applications did not have a statistically significant effect on the athletes' maximal strength and dynamic vertical jump performance (p>0.05), but when their average values were examined, it was determined that dynamic stretching applications had a positive effect on strength and vertical jump performance compared to PNF and static stretching applications. Different warm-up protocols had no effect on the dynamic balance and flexibility performances of the athletes (p>0.05), but when the average values were examined, it was determined that PNF stretching applications had a positive effect on flexibility and balance performance compared to dynamic and static stretching methods.
