Abstract (EN)

In terms of folklore, people's performances, based on thousands of years of experience, opinions and observations, have mostly shaped their oral culture, material culture or unique life philosophies. From this perspective, the products of folk culture represent people, the people in a broader sense, their beliefs, traditions and customs, and their approaches to life. When we look at the chronology of the emergence of Folklore science, which is basically based on the discipline of cultural studies, it can be said that the interest in folklore and its products is new in terms of human history. Folklore, although new, has provided different opportunities for interdisciplinary studies in the psychoanalytic field. Psychology, which is a discipline that deals with the individual, the human being and his soul, is among the disciplines that establish the closest contact with humans, just like Folklore. For this reason, it is inevitable to know that we will have a lot of material by evaluating Folklore and its products from a psychoanalytical theoretical perspective. The story of Tahir and Zühre has been subjected to many researches from past to present. However, it has been observed that the story has not been evaluated from a psychoanalytical theoretical perspective so far. For this reason, we can say that the idea was born to subject the story of Tahir and Zühre, which we decided was quite suitable for a psychoanalytical examination due to its structure, to an examination from this perspective. In this study, which is an attempt to analyze with psychoanalytic theory, Tahir's individualization process is discussed with collective consciousness, defense mechanisms, symbolic and biological birth, symbolism of love and many other factors. Tahir is at the main axis of the manuscript, which is seen as the story of two lovers. When the story of Tahir and Zühre was examined through psychoanalysis, an inference beyond the concept of love was encountered. The reflections of the unconscious, Tahir's fear, his desire to exist again and return to his first moment, and the occurrence of death in connection with this desire, were revealed by reflecting on different events, situations and people. When we examine an emotional love story with psychoanalysis, it is determined how closely it is related to the structures of personality and the unconscious, and that it is not just a love story.
