An analysis of Tanburi Cemil Bey's instrumental works in TRT repertoire in terms of makam

In this study, twenty-one instrumental works of Tanburi Cemil Bey, a virtuoso of Tanbur, are discussed and how he used makams in which parts of his works, which transitions and flavors were used is explained one by one. Tanburi Cemil Bey is a very important musician and a composer in terms of his tanbur playing technique that he introduced to Turkish Music and the works he composed. The aim of this study is to contribute to Turkish music by analyzing instrumental works of such a great virtuoso in terms of makam and revealing how he used makams in his works.
