In this study, the issue of women, which is one of the main issues of the Tanzimat period, is discussed. The main questions of the study were the place of women in the social sphere, the role of marriage, the sexuality of women, the place of foreign women, common in Ottoman society in daily life and in the family, the status of slaves, the education of women and the emergence of feminism in the Ottoman geography. It has been seen in the examined works that the Tanzimat woman carries traces of the past, thoughts, but is experiencing awakening. Important questions of feminism are asked through journals of the period. With the first steps in education, the education of girls has been highlighted. The writers of the period tried to develop the society by processing all these issues in their works.
