Cyprus has always been one of the most important islands in world history. It recognized the sovereignty of many states and for a long time was unable to determine its own fate. One of the states that ruled on the Cyprus was the Ottoman Empire. As a result of the conquest movements that started in 1570, Cyprus became part of the Ottoman Empire. A new era has begun for the island. This order built by the Ottomans on the island continued until the British took over Cyprus. The subject of this thesis is Kyrenia Castle in the 16th century. The thesis has an introduction and three chapters. In the introductory chapter, the process of Cyprus, starting from the ancient times until the Ottoman period, is discussed. The first chapter examines the conquest of Cyprus and the administrative, educational and military systems established on the island. In addition, the settlement policy applied in Cyprus is also mentioned. İn the introduction and the first chapter, a general history of Cyprus is presented. From the second chapter onwards, the focus is on Kyrenia. In the light of the findings from the tahrir book, the population was determined for the second section.
