Abstract (EN)

The problems which are faced in teaching the lesson of Revolution History of the Turkish Republic and The Principles of Atatürk in secondary education and the solutions for these problems according to the opinions of history teachers are emphasized in this research.311 history teachers working in Konya in the education year of 2007-2008 form the general structure of the research. In the sampling, 159 history teachers of 98 schools from 15 different districts took place. The data of research which has field survey characteristics were collected by questionnaire. Entry of the collected data and statistical analysis were made by SPSS 15.0 software.The problems related with the lesson and solution offers are grouped under five headings. These were determined as curriculum, teaching methods and techniques, measuring and evaluating, the training of history teachers and the course books.As a result, it is seen that there is a very high level of participation for the critiques and offers about the course book and measuring-evaluating. The critiques and offers about teaching methods and techniques, curriculum, and the training of the history teachers have high participation. These results have proved once more that there is a need for the rehabilitation of teaching the lesson of Revolution History of the Turkish Republic and The Principles of Atatürk.In the last part of the research some offers take place according to the results of the findings.
