Abstract (EN)
Bolvadin, which has a rich historical history, has been home to many civilizations for centuries and is one of the important settlements of the region with its historical urban texture. However, over time, its historical fabric began to deteriorate with population growth, economic inadequacies, changes in social and physical structure. Although the area was protected by the declaration of an urban site in the 1990s, it is seen that the protection and sustainability system does not occur today. In order to sustain conservation efforts in the region, it is needed to transform the characteristics that make up the local identity into potential with a holistic approach that protects the social, cultural and economic structure as well as the physical environment. The study prepared in this context consists of seven chapters. In the first chapter, the aim, scope, material and method of the study and the literature research are presented. In the second chapter, the concept of sustainability is explained and the historical development process, sub-dimensions and relationship with urban protection are explained. In the third chapter, the general characteristics of the district are discussed and the change from the past to the present is explained. In the fourth chapter, social analyses were carried out with survey studies with historical building users together with environmental and architectural analyses under physical analyses in the urban site designated as a working area. In the fifth chapter, the problems and potentials of the field are revealed by evaluating the field from a physical, social, legal-managerial point of view in the context of sustainability. In the sixth chapter, proposals for environmental, socio-cultural, economic and administrative needs are presented for the protection of historical structures in the area and the sustainability of historical fabric in the light of conservation principles. In the last chapter, the entire study was evaluated in the general framework and the thesis work was terminated.
